PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly and component sourcing

Everything below is a real production figure from our Shenzhen factory — not a marketing claim. If a number you need is missing, ask us and we will confirm it.

  • Layers1 – 32
  • Max board650 × 1100 mm
  • SMT lines24
  • BGA pitch0.3 mm min
At a glance: three things under one roof — PCB and FPC fabrication from 1 to 32 layers on substrates up to 650 × 1,100 mm; component sourcing; and assembly on 24 SMT lines and 6 DIP lines with a combined capacity of 40.39 million placement points per day. Components from 01005 to 2512, BGA pitch from 0.3 mm, boards assembled up to 450 × 470 mm — with no minimum order quantity.

Assembly parameters

The limits that decide whether your design can be built here.

PCBA parameters — Shenzhen factory
SMT production lines24
DIP (through-hole) assembly lines6
Smallest component package01005
Largest component package2512
BGA minimum pitch0.3 mm – 1.25 mm
Maximum PCB size450 mm × 470 mm
Minimum order quantity1 piece
PCB fabrication — layer count1 – 32 layers
PCB fabrication — minimum line / space0.06 mm / 0.06 mm
PCB fabrication — maximum board size650 mm × 1,100 mm

Note the two different limits: a bare board can be fabricated up to 650 × 1,100 mm, but a board that goes through SMT assembly is limited to 450 × 470 mm. If your design is larger than the assembly limit, it has to be split across a panel — tell us before you order and we will confirm how.

The largest single board we can fabricate, in 1 to 32 layers, on FR4, Rogers, Taconic, aluminium or high-TG laminate.

650 mm 1,100 mm
Through SMT assembly

450 × 470 mm

Assembly is the tighter of the two limits. A board built at the full fabrication size carries 3.4 times the area this line will take.

450 mm 470 mm

A board larger than this must be split across a panel. Tell us before you order and we will confirm how.

The mistake we see most often. A customer designs a large board, checks that it is within our fabrication limit, and only discovers at assembly that it is more than three times the area the SMT line can accept. Check the assembly limit if the board is being populated — 450 × 470 mm — not the fabrication limit.

Assembled on our lines

Three of the boards in this group, as they left the line. There is no caption saying what each one does — the part numbers on the chips are the only product names printed on them, and a customer's design is not ours to name.

Production lead time depends on the board type, layer count, surface finish and quantity. Read the row above as the range our fabrication runs at, not as a promise for a specific design. A board that also has components placed on it is scheduled differently — see where PCBA lead time actually goes.

Cross-section of a 4-layer board Solder mask Copper — layer 1 (outer) Prepreg Copper — layer 2 (inner) FR-4 core Copper — layer 3 (inner) Prepreg Copper — layer 4 (outer) Solder mask A 4-layer board is shown as an example. We build from 1 to 32 layers, rigid, flexible and rigid-flex.
What the layer count actually means. Each copper layer is a separate routing plane separated by insulating prepreg or core. More layers let you route more signals without crossing, keep power and ground planes clean, and control impedance — which is why a 6- or 8-layer stackup is common for high-speed boards and a 2-layer board is fine for a simple one.

Equipment and inspection

Inspection is where an assembly line either earns its reputation or loses it.

How a board moves through the line

Seven steps, in this order. A defect that is not caught at step 2 becomes expensive by step 6.

  1. Solder paste printingPaste is forced through a laser-cut stencil onto the copper pads. 24 automatic printing machines
  2. 3D SPI — solder paste inspectionThe volume and alignment of every paste deposit is measured against the stencil design. This is the earliest point a problem can be caught, and the cheapest. 8 units
  3. PlacementComponents are placed by pick-and-place machines — down to 01005, and BGA at 0.3 mm pitch. 24 SMT lines: 13 YAMAHA, 4 Panasonic, 7 JUKI
  4. Reflow solderingThe board passes through a controlled temperature profile that melts the paste and forms the joints. 10 hot-air reflow ovens
  5. AOI — automated optical inspectionEvery joint is compared against the design. Catches missing, misaligned and badly wetted components. 20 offline and 6 in-line AOI, including 3D
  6. 3D X-rayChecks the joints that cannot be seen — BGA balls and anything hidden under a package. 3D X-ray on site
  7. Through-hole, coating and testDIP assembly, conformal coating and functional testing, then board separation and packing. 6 DIP lines · 10 coating lines · 6 test lines
